3) Why we use your information

We process personal information for the following purposes:

  • Provide the Site and services — account creation, login, listings creation and moderation, search and discovery, and customer support.

  • Payments and subscriptions — to sell, renew, or upgrade listing plans and to generate invoices and receipts.

  • Communications — transactional messages (e.g., confirmations, reminders, renewal notices), important updates about your listing or account, and newsletters where you opt-in.

  • Safety and compliance — prevent spam and abuse, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal obligations.

  • Improvement and analytics — understand usage, improve features and performance, and develop new offerings.

  • Marketing with consent or legitimate interest — limited, relevant updates about Eventpreneur initiatives (e.g., education, awards, apps). You can opt out at any time.

4) Legal bases (where applicable)

Depending on your location, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Site/services you request), consent (e.g., newsletters, cookies), legitimate interests (e.g., to secure and improve the service), and legal obligation (e.g., tax and accounting).

5) Payments

We use third-party payment processors (currently Stripe) to handle payments securely. We do not store full card numbers or CVV. Processors act as independent controllers or processors under their own privacy policies. Limited payment metadata may be stored by us for accounting, fraud prevention, and customer support.

6) Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed:

  • Service providers / processors who support hosting, security, analytics, email, content delivery, storage, and customer support.

  • Payment processors to complete transactions.

  • Moderation and legal — to investigate abuse, enforce our Terms, protect our rights or users, or comply with a lawful request.

  • Business transfers — in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may transfer as permitted by law (we’ll notify you where required).

  • Public information you choose to publish — content in your profile or listing is publicly visible on the Site and may be indexed by search engines.

7) Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies, local storage, and similar tools to:

  • keep you signed in and remember preferences;

  • analyze traffic and performance (e.g., Google Analytics);

  • support payment and security features.

You can control cookies in your browser settings; blocking some cookies may limit functionality. For Google Analytics, you may use the Google Analytics Opt-out add-on.

8) Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above:

  • Account and listing data — retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for backup, audit, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.

  • Transaction records — retained per tax and accounting requirements.

  • Backups and logs — retained for limited periods for security and continuity.

You may request deletion (see Section 10). Some data may persist in backups for a limited period or where retention is required by law.

9) Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, logging, and vulnerability management. No system is 100% secure; please keep your password confidential and notify us promptly of any suspected compromise.

Subject to law, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;

  • Correct inaccurate data;

  • Delete your account or request deletion of personal information;

  • Object to or restrict certain processing;
